Surgery

The Practice has an operating theatre which is used for all our sterile procedures. We also use up-to-date anaesthetics as well as premedicants. The Operating Theatre is equipped with a modern Isoflo anaesthetic machine, which allows for smooth and safe anaesthetic and a quick recovery period. Analgesics for pain relief are used routinely and are usually included in the operation fee. We also have available a Respiratory Monitor.

Dentistry

Dental disease is one of the most common diseases seen in our pets. We have a dental scaler which is used to remove the plaque and tartar that accumulates on your pet's teeth. A polisher is then used to delay the recurrence of plaque buildup. We also have a dental drill, which is used to assist with the extraction of teeth. Our Dental Care machine is one of the most modern available.

Radiography (X-Rays)

Radiographs are extremely useful in the diagnosis of various conditions. They can tell us what is happening to the bones in the body e.g. the presence of infections, fractures, tumors. They can also give us information about internal organs e.g. Lungs, heart, liver, kidney, etc. We have a modern X-ray developer to ensure good quality images.

Electro-cardiography (ECG)

Whereas an X-ray will show us the shape of the heart, whether there are enlargement, growths, etc, a ecg goes further by actually telling us about the various chambers of the heart and how they are functioning in relation to each other. It does this by measuring electrical impulses at various points across the heart. It is a very non-invasive procedure, thus, no sedation is usually required.

Ultrasound

An ultrasound examination is an imaging technique in which deep structures of the body can be visualised by recording echoes of ultrasonic waves which are directed into the tissues. Unlike x-rays which are potentially dangerous, ultrasound waves are considered to be entirely safe. Because you get a moving image with ultrasound - as opposed to a static one that you get with an x-ray - you can see precisely how the body is functioning in a non-invasive way. We can check the size, structure and appearance of internal organs to see how each one is working in action.

In-house laboratory

We run many of our blood tests on the premises. This gives us quick information on the various components of blood (eg. Red and white blood cells, etc) as well as information about different body organs and their level of function.
